Whitesands Quay

A 1/76th 4mm to the foot scale (009) narrow gauge railway layout set in Cornwall

Whitesands Quay was created from a plan by Reinier Hendricksen who planned this as the third part to his Moors End and it's extension, The Moors. Sadly Reinier passed away in 2000 before he had started Whitesands Quay and Moors End is now in the National Narrow Gauge Museum, Valkenburg in the Netherlands.

I was given a copy of the plans and thought it would make an excellent layout for myself, but with some of my own interpretations.

I built a baseboard and trackwork (hand made) but wasn't happy with he results so had the baseboard built by my friend David at Mulberry Works with fiddle yard and stand. Track work is Peco mainline narrow gauge 9mm. The electrics are analog - I really don't need DCC for this small layout and some of the stock is too small even for available chips.

Buildings are a mix of scratch built to Reiniers plan and mostly kits for those building not in the original plan. All buildings are laser cut board with texture wraps. Window frames and doors are also laser cut that i have done myself on my small hobby laser.
